HA2 Task 8

Evaluation

For my HA2 assignment I had to design and create a label attractor for a Lucozade bottle. For the attractor I had to advertise 3 different organisations; Young Minds, Frank and Brook. To start off I looked into the the different organisations including Lucozade. I found out what each organiation does and how they aproach audiences. I created mood boards for each one. For this project we had to use manipulated images to create each attractor, so I researched various manipulated images and photos. I found a few images and tried to figure out how they created the image.

Once I finished my research I began my ideas generation. This consisted of hand drawn mind maps which reflects what I know about the organisations. When I came up with my final ideas I began to take photos. Once I got my final photos I began to edit them using Photo Shop. I used a range of different tools to edit and manipulate each photo.

For Brook I took a picture of a eye which I then made black and white using the Colour Balance Filter tool. I then added images of question marks to the main image. The problem was that the question marks had a white box round them so I had to figure out how to remove that white box. Using the magic wand tool I removed the white from the question mark. I then used the blur tool to make it look as if the question marks are fading into the eye.

For the Frank attractor I took a picture of an open mouth and a wine bottle with a wine glass. Using the rubber on the mouth I rubbed out the rest of the face leaving the face. I the copied that image and placed each mouth on the bottle and the glass.

For Young Minds I took a picture of glasses, head phones and a hat which was placed in way that makes it look like a face. I then used a blur filter to make it look as if a person has only just become invisible. I then added some text saying ' Feeling Invisible?'

Each attractor metaphorically reflects the issues that each organisation helps with. Each final image was then layered behind a bottle like template.

If I was to do this project again I would create many different mind maps with a wide range of ideas so that I had more ideas to work with. I also could of taken a lot more pictures so that I was limited when making the attractor. More research is also needed so that I had a better idea of the different organisation.
